Sophia Di Martino and Will Sharpe Relationship Timeline – POPSUGAR

Sophia Di Martino and Will Sharpe are the definition of a power couple. Di Martino is currently taking over the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Sylvie in Disney+’s “Loki,” but she’s also known for her roles in British series like “The Royal Today,” “Casualty,” and “Flowers.” The latter two also featured Sharpe, whom you may recognize from other shows like “Giri/Haji” and “The White Lotus.” Sharpe is also an award-winning writer and director.
Over the years, Di Martino and Sharpe have collaborated on several projects together. Still, the pair tend to keep their relationship out of the spotlight. They rarely talk about each other in interviews and have only recently started making public appearances together. Since they keep details about their relationship under wraps, it’s unclear if they’re engaged or married, but we do know they have been together since 2009 and have two children together.

Considering Di Martino and Sharpe have been in the industry for years, it’s not surprising they met in 2009 on the set of British medical drama “Casualty.” Di Martino initially had a small guest role as Shauna Milsom, but then she landed the recurring role of Polly Emmerson. Meanwhile, Sharpe played Yuki Reid.
In a December 2022 interview with the Evening Standard, Sharpe confirmed that he and Di Martino began dating shortly after connecting through the show. “I was a junior doctor and she was playing a paramedic in Bristol,” he said, adding that the couple have come a long way since then. “We’ve been together for 13 years and have two children: three and one.”
After Di Martino and Sharpe both left “Casualty,” the couple worked together again in the independent comedy drama “Black Pond.” Sharpe wrote and codirected the film alongside Tom Kingsley. Following the movie’s release, Sharpe and Kingsley earned a BAFTA Film Award nomination for outstanding debut by a British writer, director, or producer. In addition to writing and directing “Black Pond,” Sharpe also played the role of Tim. Meanwhile, Di Martino portrayed Rachel.
Di Martino and Sharpe collaborated again in 2016. That April, the couple starred in the British sitcom “Flowers,” which centers on a dysfunctional family as they try to keep their household from falling apart. Di Martino played a musician named Amy Flowers, and Sharpe played a Japanese illustrator named Shun. On top of acting, Sharpe also wrote and directed the series.
Later that month, Sharpe premiered his comedy “The Darkest Universe,” which he also wrote, directed, and starred in. In the movie, Sharpe plays a lonely banker named Zac, whose world comes crumbling down after losing his job and his girlfriend, Eva (Di Martino).
Di Martino and Sharpe welcomed their first child together sometime in October 2019. Since the couple like their privacy, they’ve yet to share details about their child. We only have an idea of their child’s birthday thanks to a throwback Instagram post Di Martino shared in June 2021. “#tbt Feb 2020 in the @marvelstudios stunt gym. The very beginning of my @officialloki journey and 4 months postpartum!” she captioned a photo of her during a workout session.
That June, Di Martino also told The Hollywood Reporter that she was pregnant during the audition process for “Loki.” Since she couldn’t travel at the time, Di Martino couldn’t read for her part in person, so she could only send an audition tape. “It was a very quick process,” she said. “I think [director Kate Herron] was pretty keen on me doing it after I read for the part. And from what she told me, she said that everyone agreed that I’d be the best person for the job . . . I got very lucky and I’m so grateful.”
In September 2021, Sharpe unveiled his biographical comedy drama “The Electrical Life of Louis Wain” at the 48th Telluride Film Festival. The star wrote and directed the film, which tells the true story of the British artist Louis Wain, who is known for his anthropomorphic drawings of cats. The movie features a star-studded cast that includes Di Martino, who plays a character named Judith.
That September, Di Martino also announced that she and Sharpe were expecting their second child together. The actor revealed the news by displaying her baby bump at the premiere of her movie “Sweetheart” in London. “Thank you for the lovely bump good wishes,” Di Martino wrote on her Instagram Story the following day, per Digital Spy.
After announcing her pregnancy, Di Martino went on to share several photos of her baby bump on Instagram. According to her posts, the star was still pregnant as of Nov. 12, but by Dec. 1, Di Martino confirmed she had given birth to her and Sharpe’s second child. Although the couple have kept details about their baby private, we know their second child arrived sometime in late November 2021 thanks to Di Martino’s Instagrams.
“Ive been hibernating for a while because 🥁 🥁 🥁 I’m not pregnant anymore!” Di Martino announced alongside a selfie. “Yes, I’ve had a baby. This first bit is a wonderful time that is also exhausting and so hard! So my phone has been locked in a cupboard while we figure it all out. There is a lot of love and a LOT of cake. Back soon! 💗✌🏼 #mamaoftwo.”
More than a decade after they began dating, Di Martino and Sharpe made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2022 Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards. “Mum and Dad went out!” Di Martino captioned a photo of the pair on the red carpet.
Since then, Di Martino and Sharpe have attended several more public events together, including an Emporio Armani fashion show, the West End opening of “A Little Life,” and the 2023 BAFTA Television Awards.
